basic requiREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age 
  • Complete 12 hours of pre-approval training 
  • Pass a health screening by a licensed health professional, including CPR/First aid 
  • Have sufficient income to meet current household expenses 
  • Reside in San Bernardino County [or future contracted counties]
  • Pass a criminal background check [DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Central Index] 
  • Complete a permanency assessment
  • Pass a home safety inspection
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Resource Family role and willingness to provide permanency for youth/NMD in your home 
  • Provide personal references
